Hi Kevin, I think these days we need to have a diversified approach to running a studio. It can be, like yours, a rehearsal space with recording capabilities. I think the needs reflect the design or approach of the studio model. Each of my clients have different needs for my services. A large lion's share of my work is done on line with my clients. Lately, I have played some acoustic piano ( I have a Yamaha C3 grand piano in my tracking room) as overdubs for my clients. I also had Mark Nemer play some acoustic drums on a rock/pop project that I am working on with Patrick Bolen. I have been co-writing songs and recording/producing for Latin pop artist Luci Lampe. I have also done some mixing and mastering on several projects. So, as you can see, it's been a real mixed bag of things I have been doing in my studio. This helps me stay sharp and I enjoy that too. Best of luck with your ventures at your new studio. Let's keep on making good music! GK.

Hi Gabe, really interested in what you're doing studio-wise as after nearly ten years down here I converted our old pigshed, unused except for storing hay and farm vehicles, into a rehearsal space. Being frustrated with carting my really heavy Kurzweil and speaker system around to inadequate rehearsal rooms. Now I have added some modest gear to record to ProTools etc. It has been about 6 months for me too, and finally I have been able to go out there and play tracks to design keyboard parts to. AND hopefully will be able to make tracks for my muso friends here to play to. No real target in sight for any of it mind you, but one has to do something to keep amused. I have a rather keen collection of mature players coming in tonight to re-dub some of their parts, and when the scratch vocals are complete I will put some keyboards in the various holes that seem to need a little something. It's always great to hear news of you guys. I hope that someday soon I can take a trip out east to Nashville and visit with you all. Cheers,
